A DIFFERENCE in institutional beliefs does not mean a difference in objectives and that’s why Dynamos Under-18 are one of the eight institutions that will benefit from CAPS United’s UK Legends football development initiative.

The DeMbare Under-18 side, together with Alois Bunjira’s Albun Academy, Stanely Chirambadare’s Survival Academy, Jimmy Malomo’s La Sakubva in Mutare, Friendly Academy, Howard Primary School, Peter Nkomo’s Goalkeepers Academy (Bulawayo) and Beitbridge’s Dulibadzimu Primary School, will all get assistance from the legends. Sourced with proceeds from CAPS United Legends UK Dinner and Dance Night held last December, the football equipment includes 200 bibs, 200 soccer balls, 300 cones and a set of hurdles.

The organisation’s chairman, CAPS United legend Joe “Kode” Mugabe, said the academies and schools will each receive a consignment that includes bibs, cons, soccer balls and huddles.

“Our organisation is not there to assist only CAPS United but junior football in Zimbabwe as a whole.

“We have decided to spread the football equipment to teams in other towns and not focus on Harare alone.

“We decided to give the Dynamos Under-18 team some of the equipment as an honour for winning last year’s league champioship. “It is pleasing to note that Dynamos still have junior structures and this is our small token of appreciating their efforts,” Mugabe said. Former Dynamos captain Memory Mecherahowa, who is also based here, was moved by the CAPS United Legends.

“I am impressed that they are not only focusing on their former team CAPS United, but junior football development in our country,” said Mucherahowa. Legends treasurer, Timmy Chirozvani, saluted everyone who has played a part.

“We are very grateful to our sponsors — Cassava Remit, Leorose Home Improvers, Linkpin Ltd, Bhora Africa, Team Zimbabwe and Tengaionline and Patengo Radio.

“Their support goes a long way in supporting the children back home.
