DARK horses Triangle United are not worried about who they will face when the Chibuku Super Cup semi-final draw is conducted in Harare today. Triangle coach Taurai Mangwiro said yesterday his charges would be ready for any of CAPS United, Dynamos or Harare City with who they will go into the hat for the last four fixtures of the country’s only knock-out competition.

Winning the Chibuku Super Cup also comes with a ticket to represent Zimbabwe in the CAF Confederation Cup and Triangle are the only team from outside Harare who are still in the running for the silverware.
Triangle accounted for the Midlands pair of Shabanie and Nichrut on their way to the semi-final.

Their 5-1 demolition of Nichrut in the quarter-final was a huge statement of their intentions in this competition.
“We are looking forward to the draw and we are prepared to face any opponent. To be in the semi-finals means the teams are equally competent and they are doing well.

“As a team we are doing well this season as the league progress can show as well. We will take on anyone who we will be drawn against.

“The players are looking forward for a better outing this time around after we failed to pass through the first huddle last year,” said Mangwiro.

Two-time winners Harare City will also be fancying their chances of getting a third title if their form in the Premiership is anything to go by.

The Sunshine Boys have reached the last four stage in every edition since the tournament was reintroduced in 2014 and forward William Manondo has somehow always reserved his best for the Chibuku Super cup. Manondo has also started well in this year’s competition.

Ailing giants Dynamos, runners-up in 2015 when they lost 2-1 to Harare City, have sought to use this tourney to make up for a relegation-threatened Premiership campaign.

CAPS United are also desperate to avoid a second trophy-less season by winning the Chibuku Cup and appease their fans.
